Announcement

The Employment Law Practice Group at McPharlin Sprinkles & Thomas is currently providing for employers, at their places of business, the two-hour training in prevention of sexual harassment which is required by California law. Employers with 50 or more employees (or those who use 50 or more independent contractors) must provide two hours of interactive training and education to all supervisory employees every two years. New supervisory employees must receive the training within six months of becoming a supervisor.

Prevention training is now a must for large employers. Moreover, we strongly recommend that smaller employers also conduct regular training. Recent court decisions and now the legislature have made clear that written policies alone will not suffice to meet an employer's obligation to take all reasonable steps to prevent unlawful harassment.

Feel free to contact us to schedule a training session for your supervisors.

Breakfast Seminars

Breafast Seminar

The firm periodically hosts breakfast seminars for employers on current issues in employment law. The seminars look at problem areas - such as exempt employees, leaves of absence, hiring and firing, harassment, off duty behavior, and disability accommodation - as these issues affect particular businesses.

The seminars are excellent opportunities not only to brush up on legal requirements, but also to learn what other companies are doing in the context of those requirements. These seminars can also be presented on site at client facilities.

If you would like to be on our mailing list for notification of upcoming seminars, please email nat@mstpartners.com with your mailing or email address.
