After decades as a business and employment law counselor and trial attorney, Linda McPharlin has retired from the practice of law with McPharlin Sprinkles & Thomas LLP, the firm she founded with Catherine Sprinkles in 1994. 

 

She now practices exclusively as an arbitrator and mediator for the American Arbitration Association where she has served in those roles for more than 25 years.  She is currently on the AAA employment law, commercial, and consumer panels.   Matters she has arbitrated include:

 

1. Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation

2. Wrongful termination

3. Employment, commission, bonus and severance contracts

4. Disability, pregnancy, and family leave

5. Migrating employees, customer lists, and trade secrets

6. Wage and hour issues

7. Business and consumer contracts, including “terms and conditions”

8. Independent contractor issues 

 

Linda McPharlin obtained her J.D. from Santa Clara University, magna cum laude, and her B.A. from UCLA, where she was elected to Phi Beta Kappa.  She has served on the executive board of the California State Bar’s 5000-member Labor & Employment Law Section.  She was a long-term member and president of the American Inns of Court, an organization promoting ethics, civility, and excellence in the legal community.
